MCCC Basketball Player Patti Foley Named
Pre-Season NJCAA All-American

Patti Foley, a 5'9" sophomore who plays forward for the Mercer County Community College women's basketball team, has been named a pre-season All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Foley, a graduate of Nottingham High School, was the sixth leading scorer in the nation during her freshman season at Mercer. Also during the 2005-06 season, she was selected as a third team All-American and was voted to the first team All-Conference and All-Region. Foley played in 29 games, scoring 629 total points and averaging 21.7 points per game, 11 rebounds per game, and 1.1 assists. From her forward position she had 21 double/doubles.

According to MCCC Athletics Director John Simone, Foley is one of ten pre-season NJCAA selections based on statistics from 2005-06.

The Mercer women's basketball team has its opening game of the season on Nov. 16 at Passaic County Community College. Women's head coach Mike Tenaglia begins his 17th year with the Lady Vikes. For the 2006-07 game schedule, click here.
