"The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa shall be to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence."

Phi Theta Kappa's mission is two-fold: 1) recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and (2) provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.

Dear Prospective Phi Theta Kappa Members,  

If you received an invitation letter in the mail or your email,  

based on the criteria of GPA (3.5) and accumulated credits (12),  or even if you did not, please contact a student officer or member or a chapter advisor

and come join us at a Phi Theta Kappa meeting, held

on Mondays in room SC-211, or at the capter office in SC-117.

If you have an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher


you have completed at least 12.0 credits or more

(college-level credits , with a course number of 100 or higher-excluding ESL courses) .

(you can check with an advisor or student officer if you do not have this!)

Your online acceptance, with your one-time membership fee of $72.00 payable with a credit card is the best way to accept and receive your certificate and other materials

then complete and submit them with a check (or money order - no cash) made out to MCCC with "PTK" written in the memo line for $72.00 to a chapter advisor or a student officer in SC-117.
