Nina Melker Elected as New Chair of MCCC Foundation

WEST WINDSOR – Banking executive Nina Melker of HamiltonNina Melker has been elected as the new chair of the Mercer County Community College (MCCC) Foundation, which provides financial support for scholarships, facility expansion, and programs at MCCC.

“I am so honored to be the chair of the Mercer County Community College Foundation,” Melker said. “I am most excited about our expansion of the Trenton Campus and look to focus on efforts that will allow us to do the expansion, as well as complete the Facilities Master Plan for both campuses.”

Melker began her three-year term in January. Joining her as board officers are Terry McEwen as vice chair and John Pavlovsky Jr. as treasurer.

Melker’s career in banking spans 33 years, with a wide range of experience in retail lending. She spent 23 years at Yardville National Bank, where she was first senior vice president in charge of community banking. She has also served as an executive with the Bank of Princeton, and since 2012 has served as the senior vice president and commercial relationship manager for Hopewell Valley Community Bank.

In addition to her service on the MCCC Foundation Board, Melker has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Hamilton Area YMCA, as vice chair of the Robert Wood Johnson of Hamilton Foundation, as president of the Hamilton Education Foundation, and as co-chair of the East Windsor Chapter of the Mercer County Regional Chamber of Commerce, among many others. She has also received numerous awards for her accomplishments, including Person of the Year from the Hamilton YMCA in 2012.

Melker also serves as co-chair of MCCC’s “Spring Into Student Success” planning committee, with Mercer County Freeholder Pat Colavita Jr. The event is the college’s annual fundraiser for student scholarships and will be held on Thursday, April 4 at club house of the Mercer Oaks Golf Course in West Windsor.
