Youth Empowerment Conference Tomorrow
MCCC and the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa (PDK) Inc. Pi Chapter are partnering to present “Preparing for Greatness,” a youth empowerment conference to be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Read more here.

Building Community in Classroom is Brown Bag Topic Nov. 4
The Magna 20-Minute Mentor Brown Bag Lunch Series continues with "How Do I Build Community in My Classroom" on Nov. 4. The discussion begins at noon in CM126B. See the full schedule here.

Career Services Offers Peer Group Discussions
Career Services will offer a series of peer group discussions throughout the month of November, beginning on Monday, Nov. 4. The discussions are designed to give students insight on how how to achieve a work-life balance, managing school, studying, family, and work. Additional discussions will be held on Nov. 11, 18 and 25. All sessions are from 3 to 4 p.m. in SC210. Read the flyer here.

Health Fair in Trenton Nov. 13
The Trenton Campus will host the Annual Health Fair to be held on Wednesday, Nov. 13, from noon to 1 p.m. in Kerney Hall, Room 229. Blood pressure screenings, eye exams, information on mental health, advice on diet and cancer prevention, and much more will be offered. Also, representatives will be at the Health Fair to help the medically uninsured with enrollment. For more information, please contact Linda Ertingu ext. 3165 or at ertingul@mccc.edu.

Community Open House and Transfer Session Nov. 14
Spread the word to neighbors and friends! MCCC's Board of Trustees will host an "Open House and Ease of Transfer Information Session" for prospective students, their families and community residents on Thursday, Nov. 14. The open house will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the transfer panel discussion, which includes participants from eight four-year colleges. Read the details here.

AAWCC, AASO to Host Financial Workshop Nov. 15
The American Association of Women in Community Colleges and the African American Student Organization will host “Money Matters: Helping You Handle College and Real Life Finances” on Friday, Nov. 15, at noon in SC104. The event is open to all students and staff. Fiah Gussin from PNC Bank will be the keynote speaker, and lunch will be served. Please bring a personal care item (deodorant, toothpaste, facial tissues, etc.) to be donated to local womens shelters for the holidays. Read the flyer here.

Student Activities to Host Thanksgiving Program Nov. 19
The Student Activities Office is hosting a Thanksgiving Program with Sally Jones on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at noon in SC104 featuring a free Thanksgiving lunch and program. Look for notices going out in the upcoming week inviting college staff and students. Contact Danielle Garruba to reserve your tickets at garrubad@mccc.edu or ext. 3412.

Student Restaurant Open for Business
Students in the Food Prep II Class began preparing and serving lunch last week, and will continue to serve lunch Wednesdays in November in ES111. Seatings are from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Meals are $10 for staff, $8 for MCCC students, and $12 for outside visitors. Tickets are available in the Accounting Office, AD128.

Rutgers RN to BSN Program at Mercer Off to Good Start
The new Rutgers RN to BSN program at Mercer has 10 students enrolled, with expectaions that it will grow quickly. Read the Rutgers press release here.

Zoe Dupree Offers Styling Tips to Trenton Students
Celebrity stylist Stefon Allen (aka Zoe Dupree) brought his "Styling School" to the Trenton Campus, with more than 20 students and community guests attending the two-hour workshop. Dupree gave tips on how to network, make a brand, and break into the world of fashion. Read more here.

Athletes in the Spotlight: Cai-Cai Hahn and Rachael Wilson
According to Head Coach Erin Cahill-Wetzel, runners Cai-Cai Hahn and Rachael Wilson have stepped up late in the season, helping the Vikings finish second at the Region 19 Championship on Oct. 27. Read more here.

Nov. 9: Mercer County Photographers Invited to Submit Work. The MCCC Gallery invites photographers 18 and older who live, work or attend school in Mercer County to submit photos for consideration for the upcoming Mercer County Photography 2013 exhibit. Show dates are Nov. 19 – Dec. 18. For a full prospectus, visit the Gallery website here and click on the “prospectus” link under the “Current Exhibition” icon, or email wolfed@mccc.edu. Purchase and Merit Awards will be selected and announced at the Opening Reception at the Gallery on Nov. 20.

Through Dec. 12: Yoga and Zumba Classes. Yoga classes with Helen Tanzini are held every Wednesday through Dec. 11, from noon to 1 p.m. in the gym.  Classes with Tracy are held every Monday and Thursday through Dec. 12, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in PE225. Zumba classes with Colleen are held every Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. in the gym. Classes are open to all students, faculty and staff.
