Mercer’s fall open house event, "Discover YOUR Community College," will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18 on the West Windsor Campus, 1200 old Trenton Road. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.; events conclude at 4:30 p.m. Visitors are welcome at any time during the day.

By opening the campus on a weekend, the college hopes to give prospective students, current students, parents, and the greater Mercer County community a first-hand look at what MCCC has to offer, according to college President Dr. Patricia C. Donohue.

“At Mercer, we are an active partner in the community and we believe it is important to show the people of Mercer County what their community college is all about,” Donohue said. “From summer camps to degree programs in the sciences, from services to the business community to continuing education programs, Mercer County Community College truly has something for everyone.”

Admissions, Financial Aid, Honors Programs, and four-year and transfer advisors will be available all day, with a selection of program presentations and tours by faculty members at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. Tours led by staff and current student leaders include Mercer athletic facilities, Kelsey Theatre, WWFM studios, Mercer’s television and radio facilities, science and engineering laboratories, and culinary arts kitchens.

In addition, there will be a special “Ask the President” session, and President Donohue’s annual “Report to the Community” and the MCCC Board of Trustees Awards for Alumni Leader, Corporate Partner, and Partner in Learning. Receptions, networking meetings, and alumni gatherings are scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

A picnic lunch will be available starting at 11:45 a.m., with special 1966 “Founder’s Year” prices. For more information or to pre-register, visit www.mccc.edu/discover.
