Gallery Faculty Exhibit Opens Sept. 8
The Gallery at Mercer puts its own talented faculty in the spotlight for the “2015 Visual Arts Faculty Exhibit.” The show runs from Tuesday, Sept. 8 through Thursday, Sept. 24, with a community reception to be held Wednesday, Sept. 9, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Read more here.

Exercise Classes Begin Sept. 8
Fall exercise classes begin next week. Both yoga and zumba will be offered through the Student Life and Leadership office. Zumba will be offered in the gym on Tuesdays, starting Sept. 8, from noon to 1 p.m. Yoga will be offered Monday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in PE225, starting Sept. 14.

Club Day is Sept. 9
Join Student Life and Leadership staff as they host Club Day on Wednesday, Sept. 9 in the Student Center hallway on the West Windsor Campus. The event takes place from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. The college has 45 active clubs for students to enjoy. Questions? Center for Continuing Studies Open House Set for Sept. 10
A variety of career options will be explored during a Center for Continuing Studies Open House on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Center at Mercer. Registration for this free event is requested by calling (609)570-3311. All registrants will be entered into a drawing to win a free personal interest class valued up to $100. College to Host 9/11 Ceremony
MCCC and the County of Mercer invite staff, students and members of the community to attend an annual ceremony in remembrance of September 11, 2001. The event is set for Friday, Sept. 11, 11 a.m., at MCCC’s West Windsor Campus in the Commemorative Garden adjacent to the Student Center.  (In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held in the Student Center.) "The Fantasticks" Brings Music, Magic to Kelsey Sept. 25 to Oct. 4
The age-old tale of boy meets girl is presented with classic showmanship and high style when the longest-running musical of all time comes to Kelsey Theatre. PinnWorth Productions presents "The Fantasticks" Sept. 25 to Oct. 4. Read more here.

Students Return for an Exciting Academic Year at Mercer
The campus was abuzz this week, with new and returning students ready to begin or resume their studies at Mercer. Old friendships were renewed, and new ones were made! MCCC Students “Brush-Up” With Math Readiness Pilot Program
While most students were waiting for the first day of fall semester classes, more than two-dozen incoming freshmen at the Trenton Campus recently spent a large portion of their summer “brushing up” – and getting a head start on their college education. Read more here.

WWFM Artist-in-Residence Goes Exploring “Between the Keys”
Jed Distler, the first ever artist-in-residence at WWFM the Classical Network, is a New York-based composer, pianist, writer, lecturer, and curator. This spring he launched his radio show “Between the Keys,” on WWFM, featuring keyboard music in what he describes as a “refreshingly inauthentic style.” Read more here.

CCS Student Benefits From Gerontology Program
Hamilton resident Barbara Holt enrolled in the Gerontology program at the Center for Continuing Studies to gain some insight on the care of her 99-year-old grandmother, but found that it also gave a boost to her career at the Hamilton Continuing Care Center. Read more here.

Faculty Member Publishes Book on Quakers, Abolitionists
Sue Kozel, Senior Adjunct Professor in History, has published her first book, entitled Quakers and their Allies in the Abolitionist Cause, 1754-1808 (Routledge Press). The volume explores the significant connections between the Quaker community and the abolitionist cause in America. Read more here.

Nationally-Ranked Men's Soccer Team Off to Fast Start
The Vikings men's soccer team is ranked 19th in the nation and off to a 4-0 start, following a 7-1 drubbing of Howard Community College at home Wednesday night. See the Facebook photos here. The team plays two home games this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, at noon.
