AASO Spring Craft and Gift Fair Saturday
More than 30 vendors will be showcasing their unique items including jewelry, paintings, home goods, knit items, silk floral arrangements, cosmetics, pottery, soaps, baby items, fresh plants, and more Saturday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the West Windsor Campus Student Center. There will be live music by DJ Serge, food, cash prizes, and raffles. Bring your friends and family. Event is sponsored by AASO and will be held rain or shine. Details here. Questions? Funeral Service Program to Hold Open House Saturday
Prospective students, their parents, and adults interested in a second career in the funeral service industry will have a chance to learn more about the MCCC Funeral Services program during an open house on Saturday, May 10, 10 a.m. to noon. Details here.

Mercer Dance Ensemble Performs Saturday and Sunday
The Mercer Dance Ensemble, composed of current Dance students, alumni and community dancers, will perform a varied program at Kelsey Theatre for two shows only on May 10 and 11. More here.

"Shrek the Musical" Comes to Kelsey May 30 to June 8
Everyone’s favorite ogre comes to Kelsey Theatre when the award-winning Maurer Productions OnStage (MPO) presents “Shrek the Musical,” a song-and-dance-filled stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film. Read more here.

Gov. Christie Visits MCCC to Endorse NJ-STEP Program
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie visited the Conference Center at Mercer Thursday to meet with former inmates who benefitted from the New Jersey Scholarship and Transformative Education in Prisons (NJ-STEP) program, which funds postsecondary education in seven of the state's prisons, and to announce his continued support of the program. Visual Arts Students Present Solo Shows at Student Center
It’s unusual for Fine Arts students to have a solo exhibit during their freshman or sophomore years at college. At Mercer, four students are enjoying that privilege in the early stages of studying their craft. Read more here.

Trenton Campus Students Rank First in Region, Third in Nation for Volunteer Hours
For a special group of students at Mercer’s Trenton Campus, community service has become a way of life. Since the fall semester, they have amassed more than 250 hours of service and are focused on surpassing 500 hours by the end of the year. Read more here.

Foreign Language Honor Society Celebrates 30th Anniversary
Eleven Mercer students are proud new members of the Kappa Iota chapter of Alpha Mu Gamma, the national collegiate foreign language honor society. This year, MCCC's chapter celebrates its 30th anniversary. Since its founding in 1984, 433 students who have excelled in their language studies have been inducted. Read more here.

Alumni Present Joint Art Show in Lawrenceville
Alumni Bill and Helene Plank (yes, the same Helene who worked at the college for many years) are having a joint art show at the Lawrenceville Library through May 31. Both artists are lifetime Mercer County residents who met as Visual Arts students at MCCC. See the show details here.

New Catalogs Have Arrived!
The latest MCCC college catalog (2014-15) has been printed and Receiving has delivered cartons this week to key areas at both campuses. This initial delivery is only partial. For restocking with quantities allocated to each department, contact Francis Paixao at ext. 3731. Note that our college catalog is now published annually, and the most recent editions may always be accessed online here.

This Week's Events on MLink ____Full College Calendar____Event Submission Form

May 17: Fashion Program Runway Show. Students of the MCCC Fashion program will showcase their designs on the runway at the Trenton Campus on Saturday, May 17 from 3 to 6 p.m. The event is open to the public. Four fashion design students will present mini-collections and nine Fashion Club members will present clothing they have styled. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at Kelsey Theatre, the Bursar's Office or from members of the Fashion Club. The club is hosting a bake sale and ticket sale for the show on May 12. A limited number will be on sale at the door if seats are available. Flyer here.

Through May 15: Kelsey Review accepting submissions. Those who live, work and/or study in Mercer County are invited to submit short fiction, poetry, personal essays, art and more for the 2014 edition of Kelsey Review. The submission deadline is May 15. Read the details here.
