Transfer/Partnership Agreement Signed with Rider University
The presidents of Mercer County Community College and Rider University signed an agreement at Mercer on Nov. 3 that renews transfer opportunities for Mercer graduates and ushers in a new era of partnership, outreach and networking for the two colleges. College mascots were on hand to help cut a celebratory cake for staff and students.
Said MCCC president, Dr. Robert Rose. “We are extremely pleased to work with Rider, our long-time neighbors and partners, as they continue the tradition of providing excellence in education for our students and outstanding opportunities for them in the work force.”
For Mercer graduates who want to continue their education for a bachelor’s degree, Rider offers a guaranteed transfer program that begins when a student enters Mercer, up to the completion of 30 credits. Rider has agreed to provide scholarships for entering Mercer students with a 2.75 grade point average or above, with amounts dependent upon their average at graduation. For example, students with a 3.5 or better grade point average will be eligible for scholarships of $7,500 per year, while those with lower averages will qualify for lesser amounts. The scholarships are renewable for up to three years.
Rider has pledged to assign an enrollment advisor who will help Mercer students plan their academic path, from before they apply to Rider throughout their years at Mercer.
“We value the alliances we have enjoyed with Mercer County Community College over the years and with so many well-prepared Mercer students who have joined the Rider community," said Rozanski. "In the past three years more than 200 students have made the natural transition from Mercer to Rider, which is testimony to the close ties that our institutions enjoy and to the services provided to these students both at Mercer and when they come to Rider."

Peirce College Opens Doors to MCCC Students
Philadelphia’s Peirce College, specializing in undergraduate programs in business, information technology and paralegal studies, and Mercer County Community College (MCCC) have signed an agreement that will make it easier for MCCC graduates to transfer their credits in pursuit of a Peirce bachelor’s degree.
Students who earn an associate degree from MCCC in business or information technology will be able to transfer into a Peirce College bachelor’s degree program in a related field and begin their junior year of college, provided they meet academic standards.
Mercer County Community College maintains transfer agreements with colleges nationwide, in addition to Dual Admissions Agreements with many New Jersey colleges and universities that enable students to save thousands of dollars on the total cost of their degree. Fairleigh Dickinson University Offers B.A. and M.A. at MCCC Campus
Through a partnership agreement with Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU), students can begin their studies in business or hospitality at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) and complete their bachelor's degree through Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) without leaving the Mercer campus. Those in hospitality studies can also take graduate courses at Mercer leading to a master's degree. FDU faculty members offer the classes at Mercer's West Windsor campus.
The two bachelor's degree tracks are "Business and Technology" and "Hospitality Management." The Master of Science degree is "Hospitality Management Studies." The programs will offer flexibility so students can tailor their studies to specific career goals. Classes are offered in the evening and on Saturdays to accommodate part-time as well as full-time students. The FDU courses at Mercer will be offered at a rate discounted from the FDU on-campus per-credit rate.

Transfer Agreement with Penn State Abington
Mercer County Community College's Business Administration graduates have a new opportunity to transfer seamlessly into a bachelor's degree program in Business at Penn State University's Abington campus. MCCC president, Dr. Robert Rose, and Penn State Abington dean and CEO, Dr. Karen Wiley Sandler, signed a new transfer agreement on May 5.
Eligible MCCC graduates must earn at least a 2.5 grade point average and must enroll at Penn State Abington within one year of their Mercer graduation. The agreement will give transferring students access to an academic scholarship of $1,500 if they earn a 3.60 final grade point average at Mercer, or $1,000 if they earn a 3.30 grade point average.
According to Professor Framarz Khoushab, who coordinates the MCCC Business program, and who taught at Abington in the early 1990s, "This partnership will provide a great opportunity for Mercer students. It's a very strong university with a fine reputation." Khoushab noted that Penn State Abington's Business program offers a study-abroad program in Germany that will open still more possibilities for transfer students.
The Abington campus is approximately 45 minutes from MCCC's West Windsor campus at 1200 Old Trenton Road. For more information contact Transfer Counselor Laurene Jones at 609-586-4800, ext. 3307 or e-mail jonesl@mccc.edu.

Transfer Agreement with Temple University
The "Core to Core Transfer Agreement" between Mercer County Community College and Temple University enables students to more easily transfer to Temple after they complete an associate degree at Mercer.
The agreement means that Mercer students who earn an approved associate of arts (A.A.) or associate of science (A.S.) degree have also met most of Temple's core requirements. According to Mercer Transfer Counselor Laurene Jones, the agreement recognizes that Mercer students have acquired the skills and knowledge essential to academic success at Temple. "Students can begin at the university ready to focus on their major since their core requirements have been satisfied," Jones said.
