Which math courses transfer for Liberal Arts students?

Most liberal arts programs will accept MAT 107 and 108.

Rider University and The College of New Jersey accept both while Rutgers University accepts MAT 108

If you plan to major in a social science, plan to take statistics (MAT 200).

Rutgers requires two statistics courses (MAT 200 and MAT 205).

If you plan to major in psychology at Rutgers, you need to take pre-calculus (MAT 103 and MAT 104) in addition to the two statistics courses.

Remember that you do not need to take all your math courses at Mercer. Rutgers offers statistics as a single course and pre-calculus as a single course.

How about taking pre-calculus for my math requirements?

Some transfer schools require pre-calculus (MAT 103 and MAT 104). Rutgers requires pre-calculus for psychology majors.

Rutgers also requires that you complete algebra I and II and geometry in high school. If you did not complete these courses in high school, you must complete them at a community college. If you did not take any college math in high school, you need to take pre-calculus (MAT 103 and MAT 104) at Mercer.

Will MAT 101 and 102 transfer?

Some transfer schools accept MAT 101 and MAT 102, but you need to check with your transfer school to be sure.

If you need pre-calculus or calculus, you may need to start with MAT 101 and MAT 102 to work your way up to the higher math.

If you are in the Humanities and Social Science program at Mercer, remember that only MAT 102 applies toward the degree.
