Question Mark

The question mark ( ? ) is used to

a) end a direct question (an interrogative sentence).

    Example
    Will you love me forever?

b) end an interrogative quotation. The question mark appears either inside or outside the quotation marks, depending on whether the quoted material is the question or the question is about the quoted material.

    Examples
Quoted material asks the question: He asked, "Will you love me forever?" Question is about the quoted material: Was it John who asked, "Will you love me forever"?
