Educational Opportunity Fund
The Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program helps make college possible for financially and educationally disadvantaged students. In addition to receiving financial aid, EOF students are given individual and group counseling, academic advising, tutoring, and leadership training. During the academic year, EOF counselors closely monitor students' progress and provide services when necessary.
The EOF Summer Enrichment Program helps first-time students adjust to the academic and social demands of college. Summer program students take academic foundations courses, attend study skills workshops to prepare for academic work, and participate in extracurricular activities to broaden their exposure outside the classroom.
New students who are unable to attend the Summer Enrichment Program are required to attend a one-day EOF Fall Freshman Orientation program where they meet EOF and other MCCC personnel and are introduced to college survival techniques and practices in preparation for the challenges ahead.
