Small Business Development
The New Jersey Small Business Development Center network provides comprehensive services to promote the start-up, retention, and expansion of small businesses. Each year, more than 10,000 small business owners receive free one-on-one management consulting and technical expertise as well as small business and other training workshops and seminars. Technical assistance in international trade and small business incubator services are also available. SBDCs, many of which are located in our community colleges, are committed to the development and growth of New Jersey's small businesses. NOTE coordinates the very successful Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) program for the NJ Department of Labor, which provides 60 hours of instruction at ten sites around the state in how to start a small business. During the last few years, over 3000 students have completed the program and created new businesses in New Jersey.

Workforce Development Partnership
New Jersey keeps our economy growing by offering qualified businesses more than 25 million dollars each year in the Workforce Development Partnership (WDP) program. This funding is used to upgrade worker skills in order to meet the challenges of a changing technological and global environment. Since the community colleges are the leading training providers for this program, NOTE's partnership with the NJ Department of Labor's Office of Customized Training can facilitate the access of these funds.
