Innovative Partnerships

MCCC's programs of cooperative, mutually-beneficial innovative partnerships with regional industries and businesses are custom designed to provide practical job experience for Mercer students through paid internships.

In developing these innovative partnerships, Mercer seeks the following commitments from its industry and business partners:

  1. A paid internship offering $11 per hour or more in the student's major discipline or area of preferred studies. The internship should provide meaningful work experience that can build the student's resume and enhance the student's qualifications for a job following graduation.
  2. Supervision and mentoring to paid student interns to better prepare graduates to be ready, engaged, and productive employees.
  3. Opportunities for employment following graduation for those graduates who meet the employer's standards and expectations.
  4. Assistance for continuing education, including tuition assistance and/or support for professional licensure.

MCCC currently has eight such innovative partnerships. The attached table summarizes the features of each. For more information or to arrange an internship, please contact the coordinating Dean.
