As part of its year-long 50th anniversary celebration, Mercer County Community College

in Mercer County that continues to thrive, thanks in large part to the wonderful theater

Presentation of Plays (March 10-12, 2017)

All selected playwrights will be invited to present their play on stage at MCCC's Kelsey Theatre between March 10 and 12.

The playwright(s) with the overall winning script(s) will be awarded a production slot in the 2017 Kelsey Theatre summer season.

The goal is to present as many plays as possible. The focus will be on the written word, not production values. Load-in and load-out times will be limited (using the fringe festival model). To simplify production, Kelsey Theatre will make available generic kitchen/dining room furniture and living room furniture, and a door unit. Use of these items is not mandatory.

Instructions for sound and light cues will be distributed to the selected playwrights as will stage dimensions and standard rep light plot. A tech tour of the Kelsey facility will be scheduled to ensure smooth load-in and run.

If projections are needed, a screen will be provided. Images must be in Powerpoint Windows Platform.

Note about music:  Kelsey Theatre will provide a piano/keyboard. Single instrument accompaniment will be allowed, but orchestras cannot be accommodated.
