MCCC Welcomes Dr. Patricia C. Donohue and
Awards Students for Outstanding Accomplishments

MCCC's incoming president, Dr. Patricia C. Donohue, speaks while members of the college's soccer team look on.

Dr. Patricia C. Donohue, who will begin the presidency of Mercer County Community College on Feb. 1, joined members of the board of trustees, staff, faculty and students at a "Meet and Greet" reception Dec. 21 at the Conference Center. Students received recognition for outstanding achievement that evening.

Receiving congratulations and new team jackets were members of the men's 2006 soccer team, which came in second in the nation in the National Junior College Athletic Association tournament, and the 2005-06 women's tennis team, which took second place in its national tournament last May.

Students of the college's Television program were honored for receiving a 2006 Silver Telly Award for their live coverage of the Mercer County high school basketball tournament held at the college and aired on MCCC's Cable Channel 26. The Telly Awards honor outstanding video and film productions nationally and locally, with silver the highest award category.

Dr. Donohue also took a few moments to pose for photographs for Mercer Business Magazine, which is doing a feature story about her in the January issue. She will appear on the cover with three members of the MCCC women's tennis team.
