WEST WINDSOR, N.J. -- Credit classes for the fall 2008 semester begin Aug. 25 at Mercer County Community College. Previously-registered students can sign up for classes online here.

Mercer offers a flexible schedule of classes at the West Windsor campus, the downtown Trenton James Kerney campus, and online through The Virtual College. In addition to the 15-week semester, sessions of 10, seven and five weeks are offered year-round. Lunchtime courses are offered in downtown Trenton.

New programs this fall include Evening Weekend College, designed to accommodate adult learners who work full time or care for young children during the day. The program offers associate degrees in Business Administration and Liberal Arts that can be completed in two years by attending classes in the evening, on weekends and online. Both degree programs are designed for students who plan to transfer to four-year colleges or universities.

Mercer has designed a new option in the Biology program for students whose goal is a career in medicine or scientific research. Graduates will be prepared to transfer for further studies in medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, physician assisting, biotechnology, microbiology, molecular biology, genetic or biochemical engineering, pharmacy or physical therapy.

Many Mercer graduates transfer into bachelor's degree programs nationwide. The college has numerous transfer agreements and dual admissions agreements with colleges throughout the region and country.

MCCC offers free tutoring, academic advisement and assistance with state and federal financial aid programs, grants, loans and scholarships. Mercer continues to accept recent high school graduates tuition-free through the NJSTARS program. Those who graduate in the top 20% of their high school class and enroll in at least 12 college credits are eligible.

With more than 60 associate degree programs designed for transfer or career preparation, Mercer provides career and college solutions for a wide variety of needs. Unique majors include Entertainment Technology, Exercise Science, Funeral Service, the health professions, Plant Science and Ornamental Horticulture, and Aviation Flight Technology.

Highly motivated students may enter the Honors Program, which provides an enriched college experience for high-achieving students.
