George Pruitt to Speak at MCCC's
2004 Commencement, May 27, 6 p.m.

Dr. George Pruitt, president of Thomas Edison State College, will deliver the commencement address at Mercer County Community College's graduation ceremonies on Thursday, May 27, beginning at 6 p.m. in the central quadrangle of the West Windsor Campus.

Pruitt has been Thomas Edison's president since 1982. He previously served in leadership positions at Illinois State University, Towson State University, Morgan State University, Tennessee State University and the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning.

More than 850 students will receive associate degrees or credit certificates from MCCC. Graduating student Colleen Greene of Ewing, an Education major with two teenage children, will give the student address. She plans to transfer to Rider University with the goal of teaching middle school history.

An Honors Convocation preceding commencement ceremonies will be held at 3 p.m. in Kelsey Theatre.

In the event of rain, commencement ceremonies will be held in the Physical Education Building.
