Jamil Faridy Presents $5,000 Check for Scholarships

N.J. -- Jamil Faridy of Levittown, a long-time member of Mercer
County Community College's Foundation Board, kicked off the 2007
Scholarship Gala fundraising campaign with a $5,000 donation.
is chairman of the Boheme Opera of NJ, and is retired from the
architectural firm Faridy Veisz Fraytak of Ewing. Over the past
17 years Mr. Faridy has volunteered to personally raise more than
$500,000 for student scholarships. In addition to his generous
personal contributions, he annually solicits area corporations
for sponsorships, ads and auction donations. An artist and musician,
Mr. Faridy annually donates his paintings to MCCC's silent auction.
From 1962 to 1967 he was an adjunct professor of architecture
at Mercer. Since then he has been a volunteer member of the college's
Architectural Advisory Commission.
Set for March
10 at the Hyatt Regency, this year's event "On Broadway"
will again raise scholarship funds for deserving students who
need financial assistance. The evening features an elegant dinner,
