"From Good to Great"
The Administrative Professionals Day Conference at MCCC April 26


WEST WINDSOR, NJ -- Mercer County Community College invites employers to help their administrative personnel go "From Good to Great," at a full-day conference on April 26 for Administrative Professionals’ Day.

Keynote speaker Eileen N. Sinett will address the interplay of words, voice and silence to demonstrate the transformational power of communication. Afternoon workshops will cover topics such as exceeding expectations, successful meeting planning, business etiquette and organization..

The event takes place at the college’s West Windsor campus from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and includes a continental breakfast and special luncheon. The day is designed for all levels of administrative staff, including secretaries, coordinators, customer service representatives, public relations representatives and office managers.

In her address Sinet will highlight speaking and listening behaviors that make or break relationships and enhance or deplete self-confidence. With advanced degrees from Emerson College in Boston, and Kean College of New Jersey, Sinett will draw on her knowledge of public speaking, communication sciences and psycholinguistics.

Following the keynote address, participants will choose three workshops from topics such as "Business Etiquette," "Take the Risk out of Successful Meeting Planning," "How to Manage Your Boss Effectively," and "How to Organize Your Office Like a Pro."

Workshop presenters include experienced professionals such as marketer and organizer Janice D. Marino-Doyle; professional organizer Janet R. Pickover, a business owner and recognized leader in the industry; and Pat Tanner, a food and travel writer, and radio talk show host.

Registration and continental breakfast begin at 9 a.m., and workshops end at 4 p.m. Elegant buffet lunch and refreshments are provided. The fee of $139 includes meals and materials.
