James Kerney Campus Celebrates Academic Achievement May 9

Mercer County Community College's James Kerney Campus will celebrate its 18th Annual Awards Night in a "Celebration of Academic Achievement" at 6 p.m. on May 9 at the Patriots Theatre of Trenton's War Memorial building.

The college will salute those students who have made significant academic advancements in their individual programs, and will include the presentation of "excellence" awards to highly motivated students. "This will be an evening of enjoyment to acknowledge students' progress and encourage them to continue to achieve their goals," said MCCC's Dr. Beverly Richardson, who will serve as host along with college curriculum directors.

Graduates of the following programs will be honored: academic credit degree programs, GED (General Educational Development), Career Training Institute and English Language Institute. Addressing the students and guests will be MCCC's Acting President, Dr. Thomas Wilfrid, and keynote speaker, Dr. DeForest Soaries, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, Somerset, NJ. Four selected student speakers will deliver their personal messages.

The ceremony will conclude with refreshments served by JKC culinary arts students. All MCCC students, staff, family and friends are invited.

The James Kerney Campus of Mercer County Community College is located on North Broad and Academy Streets in Trenton, and serves as an educational hub for both credit and noncredit programs, as well as special programs for children and teens.
