A Message From Mercer County Community College's President,
Dr. Patricia C. Donohue

May 23, 2007

Dear Friends,

My very special thanks to all who participated in the inauguration ceremonies on May 4. This beautiful event was extremely well planned and perfectly executed. I feel truly welcomed by the Mercer County community.

As we recognize our students at this time of year, those of us in academia are reminded of how important our work is to the students of all ages who have taken a giant step forward in achieving their goals. Celebrating their academic achievements and seeing them proudly accept their honors, awards, scholarships and diplomas, we envision a better future for each one of them and for the community they will serve.

We recognize the part we have played in creating their futures. Indeed "Creating the Future" was the theme of my inauguration speech, excerpts of which are linked here.

I hope everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the summer. We will proceed with the search for a vice president of academic affairs and our initiatives in Master Planning and Strategic Planning. I look forward to many opportunities in the year ahead and to working with all of you as we welcome another group of new students to our campus in September.

Patricia C. Donohue
President
Mercer County Community College
