The Aviation program will continue to take new students this fall while the college seeks to raise needed funding. An Advisory Committee is now forming to review our fundraising efforts and to consider sources which may not have emerged yet.

Jazz Station Begins Broadcasting Sept. 1
WWFM The Classical Network will launch its new jazz station, "Jazz On 2," on Sept. 1, airing on 89.1's HD2 channel. The new station will collaborate with WDUQ in Pittsburgh for its programming, made possible by the college's recently added membership affiliation with National Public Radio. Locally produced programs will include guest hosts from college faculty and staff, and members of the community.

The jazz station's goals include helping to revive Trenton's jazz heritage and encouraging students to continue both their higher education and their jazz involvement after high school. WWFM Producer Winifred Howard, who is coordinating the jazz initiative, has already arranged for more than a dozen local programs a week.

Rachel Katz of WWFM's Views and Voices Wins Award
WWFM's Rachel Katz, host and producer of the Views & Voices program, and Bliss Michelson, recording engineer, won a First Place award from the Society of Professional Journalists, New Jersey Chapter. The award was for a program last fall dealing with flooding in our region. You can hear Views & Voices Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. on WWFM. Rachel's interviews with numerous college staff and faculty members are available online here.
