Human Resources (HR) is temporarily located in the trailer next to the Administration (AD) Building. If all goes as planned, HR will be in our permanent offices by January 2005. In the interim, HR is fully operational. Feel free to visit. Thank you for your patience during this transition.

Events
Open Enrollment: October 1-31 is Open Enrollment for dental, medical, Section 125 Flexible Spending accounts and AFLAC supplemental insurance plans.

Blood Drive October 12: The semi-annual blood drive is being sponsored in conjunction with the Community Blood Council of New Jersey. Due to critical blood shortages throughout the state of New Jersey, we are asking everyone for their help in making this year's drive even more successful than in the past.

Total Health Fair October 13: The Health Fair, sponsored in conjunction with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, is a great opportunity to get flu shots, cholesterol screening, blood pressure readings and learn more about healthy living. Additionally, representatives from Horizon Dental, ING, Hartford, TIAA/CREF, Citistreet, AXA/Equitable, AFLAC, and OCA Benefits (Section 125 Flexible Spending) will be available.

Benefits Information Session for Faculty October 13. This session is an overview of the MCCC benefit plan. Note: Benefits Information Sessions, for groups of employees, can be scheduled for department, division or bargaining units. Please call Dot Walton to schedule a session.

Preventing Harassment In the Workplace: During the Month of October there will be nine additional sessions of Preventing Harassment in the Workplace. Two of the sessions are for employees with supervisory or management responsibilities. The training will conclude this semester with a Saturday session on October 16. We will resume training in the spring semester.

Staffing
Erika Worthy has joined the Human Resources Department as a Human Resources Manager. She will be responsible for the employment function, including hiring, job posting, recruitment and compensation. She replaces Mr. Solimando. An experienced HR professional, Ms. Worthy is a graduate of Columbia College where she earned a Bachelor’s in mathematics. She has studied business management at the University of South Carolina. She is a welcome addition to the Human Resources Team.

Joan DeLucia has joined the Human Resources Department as a Human Resources Representative and is responsible for maintaining and processing official human resources records and documentation, and providing internal and external customer service. Ms. DeLucia has over 15 years of administrative experience, including customer service and HR. We are delighted to welcome her to the HR Team.
