Mercer Basketball Teams Head for Play-Offs
Both the men's and women's basketball teams head for Region 19 play-off games today and tomorrow as No. 3 seeds.

The women's team is 7-3 in the region and will face Lackawanna in today’s Region 19 semi-final game, a team they split with during the regular season.  Game time is 1 p.m. at Brookdale Community College.  If they win, the women will play for the Region 19 title on Saturday against the winner of the semi-final match-up between Union and Essex.  Game time for the final is 1 p.m.

The men, who are 5-5 in the region, will face a tough challenge against Del Tech in the semi-finals, a team they lost to twice during the regular season.  The game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. at Brookdale.  If the men win the semi-final, they will face either Lackawanna or Morris in the final on Sunday, March 2 at 1 p.m.

Help to Lose Those Winter Pounds
MCCC offers a great lunchtime exercise program for staff and faculty members so you can take off those winter pounds.  Classes take place in PE 119 at noon three days a week.

Tuesdays:  Low Impact Aerobics taught by Helen Tanzini.  Moderate cardio activity that ends with some weight training.

Wednesdays:  Toning and strength training taught by Jennifer Shuman.

Thursdays:  Pilates, the hottest thing in exercise, offers a combination of strength training, flexibility and toning taught by Jennifer Shuman.

Tanzini said, "We all feel much more energetic with exercise, and you’ll get more done in the course of a day.  This is also a great place to meet other staff members."  Dress comfortably and wear sneakers.  There are some mats there or you can bring your own.
