Faculty Completes Savvy Cyber Professor Program
On July 22 Debbie Kell, Laura Blinderman, Michael Dorneman and Daniel Rose completed an eight-week summer program at Stevens Institute of Technology offered to four faculty members from each of six participating community colleges, including Mercer. Photo.

Called "Savvy Cyber Professor," the live and web-based program focused on creating "unique and compelling" learning opportunities using web-based, "real-world learning objects." The program focused on math and science
professors who teach courses in which future K-12 teachers are likely to enroll. By using the new techniques, professors will be modeling quality web-based teaching. This was a state-funded add-on to a major National Science Foundation grant that Stevens received to work with some of the nation's largest and most well-known community colleges.

Our participants will be presenting what they learned from this course in a pre-class week workshop entitled "Our SAVVY-CYBER Experience: Creating Real World Web Projects," scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. in CM158. To read the description click here.
