From a Coach’s Point of View:

 Running a Championship Team”

The Chamber welcomes Charlie Inverso, Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Mercer County Community College as our guest speaker at the September Monthly Luncheon Meeting at the Trade Fair on September 7, 12:00 noon at the Westin Princeton at Forrestal Village.

A sports enthusiast at an early age, Charlie Inverso was destined to pursue a career in sports. A former goalkeeper for Notre Dame High School’s 1974 “A” state championship team, Charlie moved on to a very impressive career at Trenton State College, where he was team captain.  He graduated from TSC with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and later added a Master of Science degree in Physical Education.

Charlie’s impressive resume notes 5 National Championships, 4 National 2nd place finishes, 11 Final Four appearances and career record 388-34-20.  Charlie has been named National Coach of the Year five times and is the Author of the book, Soccer Homework.

John Simone, Director of Athletics at Mercer County Community College has remarked, “Charlie has perpetuated and enhanced our national prominence in soccer. Year in and year out, his teams have given the surrounding community a positive view of the college.  More importantly though, Charlie has enabled many student athletes to earn higher education degrees or advance professionally, using soccer as the vehicle.”

Cost to attend the September 7 Luncheon Meeting is $35 for Chamber members and $45 for non-members and walk-in guests.  Reservations in advance are required and can be made at www.princetonchamber.org or by calling (609) 924-1776.
