Tuition & Fees Increase Town Meeting
MCCC will its second meeting on proposed tuition and fee increases effective for the summer 2011 semester on Thurs., Feb. 17 at the James Kerney Campus, 12 to 1 p.m. in Room 319. The meeting will be simulcast to the West Windsor Campus in CM110.
Public Hearing on Proposed Tuition and Fee Increases
The MCCC Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on proposed tuition and fee increases on Thurs., Feb. 17, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at its regular Board Meeting in AD107, West Windsor Campus. The proposed tuition and fee increases will be effective for the summer 2011 semester.
Anyone who intends to offer comments at the hearing is requested to contact Diane Badessa at ext. 3613 by Wednesday, Feb. 16. Written comments concerning the proposed revised tuition and fee increases may be directed to President Patricia C. Donohue, Secretary to the Board of Trustees, Room AD249, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Such comments must be received by Wednesday, Feb. 16, to ensure consideration.
Posting Announcements On Campus
Guidelines for posting events and announcements around the campus were agreed upon at the College Governance Council on Feb. 8. While everyone is encouraged to inform the college community about upcoming events, meetings and workshops, we ask everyone to please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Fliers and notices are to be stapled or tacked to bulletin boards or tripods; fliers and notices are NOT to be taped to painted walls and windows within doors;
- Flyers and notices are to have a date of removal typed at the bottom of the notice; individuals and/or organizations are responsible for removal on the appropriate date;
- Whenever possible, electronic announcements are encouraged. To send an e-mail message to students via MercerMail, e-mail Executive Dean Diane Campbell. To include a message in the M-Newsletter, please fill out the form online at MLink. To request an announcement on the digital bulletin boards located in the Welcome Center and Student Success Office, please e-mail the Public Information Office. You can also post messages yourself on MCCC's Facebook page.

Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Tonight
Tonight is "Think Pink Breast Cancer Awarensss Night, 5 p.m. at the Mercer Women’s Basketball Game in the gym. Wear something pink. Adults $3; students and seniors $2. Proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Resource Center, a program of the YMCA Princeton. Sponsored by the American Association of Women in Community Colleges and the Student Government Association.
Call for Entries to "Mercer County Artists"
Calling local artists! The Gallery at Mercer invites individuals 18 or older who live, work, or attend school in Mercer County to submit their artwork to be considered for "Mercer County Artists 2011," a juried exhibition. Jurying will take place on Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Gallery. More here.
Boot Camp Begins
Mike DeAngelis will again offer MCCC's "Boot Camp" in the gym on Mondays at 12 noon, beginning Feb.14. All staff, faculty and students are invited. For further information call ext. 3758.

- Feb. 15: "Writing to Serve Others," noon to 1 p.m. in the Student Center, Room 104: Presentations by Trenton-based authors Marie Antionette and Dr. Jack Washington. Antionette is the author of three books, including "A Girl Named Job. Dr. Washington, a Trenton Central High School history teacher, is author of books documenting the history of Trenton, including "The Quest for Equality: Trenton's Black Community 1890-1965."
- Feb. 18: Open Mike showcasing MCCC talent, 7 to 10 p.m. at JKC's Center City Café.
- Feb. 21. Interactive Discussion, 12 noon in CM108: Vice President Dr. Guy Generals and Assistant Professor of English and History Dr. Eric Watson will express the views of Dr. W.E.B. Dubois and Dr. Booker T. Washington.
The spirit was high last Saturday at Kelsey Theatre when MCCC hosted a Gospel Explosion, with hand clapping, footstomping and amen! Local performers included gospel singers, mime artists, dancers and spiritual rappers. A couple MCCC staffers were among the performers, including Tonya Harrison and Terrence Carter. Milton "Bo" Tull, 35, died recently. He is a former culinary arts student and was employed at MCCC as a cook. His photographs appeared in MCCC advertising several years ago. Obituary here.
