CERAMICS:  Create a stoneware artifact that you will hand-build using basic ceramic techniques.

Must attend both sessions: 10/4 and 10/25

You will create on 10/4 and finish and pick up on 10/25.

FLOWERS!  Picked from a field or from a bucket in the supermarket, learn how to do either vase or oasis arrangements.  Flowers will be provided for this session, and you get to take your creation home with you!

RADIO:  Hip Hop on the DL! How do you make YOUR OWN radio show?  Work in one of Mercer’s three radio studios and feel what it’s like to be on the air!  Get the inside track on how music gets on the radio.

5 - 6 p.m.

TELEVISION: Experience production in a real TV studio!  Be a weather forecaster. Work the cameras!

CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM:  Hollywood vs. Reality!  Learn how the actual criminal justice system really works comparing facts with what you see on TV or in the movies.

BLOG:  Start Your Own!  What is “blogging”? Start your own online personal diary adding your individual style and personality.  Join the “blogging” community immediately during this two-hour session!

FORENSIC INVESTIGATION:  Identifying the White Powder?!  A white powder was discovered on the floor of a classroom.  Is it aspirin, flour, sugar, or perhaps a drug? Discover how to distinguish between substances that might look alike by performing chemical analyses of the “physical evidence.”

PICTURE YOURSELF ON A MAGAZINE COVER! Your picture will be taken with a digital camera.  Then you will use Photoshop on the computer to create a magazine cover that you can print to take home and hang on your wall!
