Pre-Class Week, College Assembly and Barbecue
On Aug. 25 the staff outdoor barbecue takes place at noon, followed by the College Assembly from 1:15 to 3:30 p.m. at Kelsey Theatre. The entire schedule is linked here.

Alum Tamara Ramos Builds Community Through Art
Gallery Exhibit Opens Aug. 7
Trenton artist Tamara Ramos ('10) believes that art can change communities. That's the premise at work in her venture, Euphemia Photography, which will host an opening for an exhibit entitled "Art, Freud and the Unconscious," on Saturday, Aug. 7, 6 to 9 p.m. The event will combine art, photography, dance, theater and more, and will be held at the DeRosa Group incubator space, located at 354 South Broad Street, Trenton.
Among the MCCC participants are Assistant Professor Jody Person who will perform his own theater piece, Assistant Professor of Psychology Matthew Giobbi who will exhibit some of his photographs, and MCCC Dance alumni Han Koon Ooi, Ian Reid Conley and Christopher Kess. A singer and poet will also perform. More here with photos.
Center for Continuing Studies Hosts Back to School Night Aug. 19
A "Back to School Night for Adults" information session will be held on Thursday, Aug. 19, 6 p.m. at the MCCC Conference Center.
The Center's new Fall/Winter course bulletin includes new offerings. Three new courses are designed to help small business owners; a blended (in-class and online) review course prepares participants for the certification exam as a Project Management Professional; the reorganized Green Future Management certificate program offers new opportunities; and a new Veterinary Assistant certificate program includes two courses this fall. Get Ready for the Heart Walk Sept. 12
From Amy Iseneker: The 2010 Greater Mercer County Heart Walk is taking place on Sunday, Sept. 12 at Mercer County Park. Pre-walk festivities begin at 9:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 10:30 a.m. You have the option of walking one mile or three miles. Team Mercer has volunteered countless hours and has raised over $40,000 for the American Heart Association. Please help again this year by walking, donating, or by volunteering the day of the walk.

New Clinical Research Opportunity Through CCS
After a pilot program that began in January, the Center for Continuing Studies (CCS) will offer four clinical trials courses this fall that are targeted to those seeking careers in the growing field of clinical research. Entering students must have a bachelor's degree in health care or science. Those who successfully complete the program may be eligible for internships in the industry. More here.
