County Band to Perform Dec. 22
The Mercer County Symphonic Band will perform its Winter Concert at 8 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 22 at Kelsey Theate. Admission is free. The program includes a variety of classics, contemporary selections, seasonal favorites, and traditional marches. More here.

Architecture Students Design for Non-Profit
MCCC Architecture students presented their visions for the future of a neighborhood café during presentations on Dec. 10. Students were given the assignment to create master plans for a sustainable design upgrade and expansion for a community kitchen, A Better World Café. In the daylong event, they presented renderings, 3-D models and their overall visions for the renovation project to a panel of professional architects, MCCC Architecture faculty and students. Three Programs Collaborate on Recording Session
MCCC students enrolled in an Audio Production class prepared microphones and other equipment for a live recording session by the Mercer Jazz Band last week. Following the recording, students worked individually to make their own mixdown (version) of one of the songs. The session was a joint project of the Music, Entertainment Technology and Radio/Television programs. More here.
CCS Offers Training for Careers in Health Care
This winter the Center for Continuing Studies will offer numerous options for training in the health fields. Most classes are offered in the evenings and on weekends to provide flexible scheduling for adult students. All are invited to an information session on Jan. 5 at 6 p.m. to learn more about all of the center's offerings. More here.
Turn Up the Heat at MCCC's Culinary Center this Winter
The Culinary Center at MCCC has invited some of the region's top chefs to share the joy of cooking with community residents this winter. Featured chefs include Wendy Jaeger, Bill Conrad, Frank Campione, Lawrence Frazer, Benson Yu, Elizabeth Dinice, MCCC's own Douglas Fee, and a new addition, Chef Rita Bohlumbohm. Classes begin Jan. 30 and continue through April 9. More here.
