Golf Classic on Oct. 2 To Benefit Student Athletes
The Athletics Department hosts its 21st Annual Golf Classic on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Mercer Oaks East Golf Course. Proceeds go to the Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund. The practice range for tournament participants opens at 10:30 a.m. Registration and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m., with tee-off at 12:30 p.m. The tournament features a shotgun start, scramble format. Skill prizes include hole in one, longest drives for men and women, and closest-to-the-pin on four holes. The tournament concludes at 5:30 p.m. with an awards reception, door prizes and dinner. Golfers and party-only guests will enjoy the premiere facilities available in the Mercer Oaks clubhouse. The cost for a foursome is $800; twosomes are $400; and individual golfers are $200. (Foursomes will be arranged for individual golfers.) For non-golfers, tickets for the awards dinner may be purchased separately at a cost of $100. The tournament is open to the public. More here.

Colleague Training Dates for Budget Managers
From Susan Bowen: We have established the following training schedule. Please contact the ITS Help Desk at ext. 4357 to register for this training session if you have not attended a previous session. This training will focus on logging on and navigating the new system, using the new Chart of Accounts, and entering and processing purchase requisitions. This training is mandatory for budget managers to gain access to the system for FY13 processing.
Next session is Tuesday, August 14: 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in AD 213.

WWFM Airs Concerts from the 92nd Street Y
Join WWFM The Classical Network on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 7:30 p.m. for our broadcast series premiere of performances from New York City's 92nd Street Y. The Y's famous concert hall has hosted the very best of classical music's virtuosi. You can look forward to hearing Peter Serkin, Steven Isserlis, the Orion String Quartet, Sharon Isbin, the Zukerman Chamber Players, the Brentano String Quartet, Gil Shaham and cellist Miklós Perényi, to name a few! Sept. 11: MCCC's annual commemoration ceremony, 11 a.m. at the West Windsor Campus Memorial Garden outside the Student Center.

Sept. 13: In partnership with the New Jersey State Museum, MCCC will host a panel discussion that brings together two historians and three individuals who have first-person experience with 9/11. It will take place at the Conference Center from 12 to 2:30 p.m. Details to come.

Sept. 15: Tribute to Legendary Basketball Coach Howie Landa: The committee is searching for alumni, retirees, and long-time MCCC faculty and staff who know Coach Landa. Fundraising is ongoing to inscribe Landa's name on the gymnasium floor. A ceremony on Sept. 15 will unveil the court in the gym, followed by dinner at the Conference Center.   • Yoga classes take place on Mondays and Thursdays now through August 13 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in PE225.
