Colleague Finance Training for Budget Managers - July and August Training Dates
From Susan Bowen: We have established the following training schedule for July and August. Please contact the ITS Help Desk at ext. 4357 to register for one of the training sessions. This training will focus on logging on and navigating the new system, using the new Chart of Accounts, and entering and processing purchase requisitions. This training is mandatory for budget managers to gain access to the system for FY 13 processing:

  • Friday, July 20: 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. AD 229
  • Wed, August 1: 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. AD 229
  • Tuesday, August 14: 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. AD 213

"The Wizard of Oz" Interactive Sing Along
Magic ruby slippers, singing munchkins, a dancing scarecrow and an Emerald City all come to life again on the big screen when Theater To Go presents a special family sing-along of the classic film “The Wizard of Oz” at Kelsey Theatre. This interactive presentation will take place on Friday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m.

Conference Center Construction Projects Begin Monday
MCCC's Facilities Department is excited to announce the start of renovations and improvements to the exterior and interior of the Conference Center to begin on Monday, July 16. Exterior work includes construction of a new entrance canopy and exterior lighting. Interior renovations include new flooring, wall and ceiling finishes, lighting, power and data for the reception and administration areas. Go to the Facilities Project 2012 website here for updates and photos of all of our current projects.

  • The main entrance to the Conference Center will be closed as of Monday, July 16, and an alternate back entrance will be used. Directional signs will be posted.
  • Continuing Studies and Camp College registration staff will be temporarily located in MC123.

Funeral Arrangements for Professor Emeritus David E. Collier
Professor Emeritus David E. Collier, 83, died Tuesday morning. He retired in 2005 after serving as Professor of History and Georgraphy for 44 years. He served in many positions at MCCC, including chair of the Liberal Arts Department, parliamentarian of the College Senate and College Forum, and chair of the Student Activities and Interests Committee. He advised student organizations including the Debate Club and Drama Group.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 17, at 1 p.m. in CM108. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in CM108. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hamilton Township. Arrangements are under the direction of Jeffrey C. Callahan. The complete obituary will appear in Sunday’s Trenton Times and Trentonian.

Sept. 15: Tribute to Legendary Basketball Coach Howie Landa: The committee is searching for alumni, retirees, and long-time MCCC faculty and staff who know Coach Landa. Fundraising is ongoing to inscribe Landa's name on the gymnasium floor. A ceremony on Sept. 15 will unveil the court in the gym, followed by dinner at the Conference Center. Dinner tickets are $65 per person. More here, or contact John Simone at ext. 3740.

Oct. 21: Floyd Fete, "A Jazzy Event to Support the Jim and Fannie Floyd Scholarship Fund at MCCC" at the Carl A. Fields Center, Princeton University, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Sponsorship opportunities. Individual tickets are $100. Contact Amy Frangione at ext. 3293.
