MCCC and Rider University Sign Agreement Adding 15 Majors for Guaranteed Transfer

12/13/18

WEST WINDSOR – Mercer County Community College (MCCC) students pursuing careers in Business, Technology, and the Health Sciences will now have a clearer path to their bachelor’s degree, with the signing of an agreement with Rider University adding 15 majors to the guaranteed transfer list.

“This is a sign of a great friendship, and a great partnership,” said Dr. Jianping Wang, president of Mercer County Community College. “We are very proud to partner with Rider University to create new opportunities for our students to earn a bachelor’s degree by making the process smooth, accessible, and affordable.”

The 15 new majors include nine in Business Administration concentrations, one in Computer Science, and five in Health Sciences, boosting the number of Mercer/Rider agreements to 46. Under the terms of the agreement, Rider will grant full junior-class admission to Rider for MCCC students who have completed an Intent to Enroll Form before accruing 30 credit hours at MCCC, have taken and completed all courses in their prescribed program curriculum, have earned their associate degree, and have earned a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. Rider will waive application fees.

In addition, students participating in the program will have the opportunity to enroll in one course at Rider University in their declared major, free of charge, prior to graduation from MCCC.

“This is an ongoing relationship, and this signing today is somewhat symbolic of not only an expansion of that relationship, but an evolution to a higher level,” said Dr. Gregory Dell’Omo, president of Rider University. “The bottom line is that this is for the students, and helping students make transitions in terms of time, location, flexibility, and affordability.”
