1/11/18

CCS Allied Health

Extensive instruction and training for healthcare professionals are among the many personal development options offered this spring at MCCC’s Center for Continuing Studies.

WEST WINDSOR – From the Visual Arts to the Healing Arts, Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC) Center for Continuing Studies (CCS) will be offering a variety of classes this Spring to help fulfill professional and personal interest needs.

CCS will host an Information Session on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Center at Mercer, 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor, for individuals interested in exploring career development options in healthcare, high-tech fields, and many other areas, as well as personal interest courses. Those interested in attending this free event can register by calling (609) 570-3311.

“Our Continuing Studies offerings have been revamped to align with industry standards and the evolving interests of individuals throughout the community,” said Michael Edmondson, CCS director. “The focus of our efforts is to help our students to be more marketable when seeking employment, and provide the creative personal interest students with thought-provoking, inspirational instruction.”

Healthcare professionals can expand their professional skills through the EKG Technician program, which provides instruction through a comprehensive 50-hour course preparing students for the EKG certification test. In addition, MRI certification and CT Scan programs will be offered to registered radiographers. Both are approved for 42 continuing education credits and prepare students for the accreditation exam.

For students interested in artistic pursuits, CCS will be offering new classes in Botanical Drawing, Hand Lettering, and Chalkboard Lettering, to complement instruction in Introductory Drawing and Pen and Ink Drawing. Additional personal interest classes run the gamut from musical instrument instruction to photography to wine tasting.
