West Windsor, N.J. – Former Mercer County Community College (MCCC) men’s soccer player Kadeem Dacres is finding success on the pitch at the professional level. Currently he is a forward for FC Cincinnati in the United Soccer League (USL).

His team, which is 11-10-9 with just two games left in the regular season, is in sixth place and is likely to advance to the playoffs. Dacres has played in 20 games, with 11 starts and a total of 950 minutes played.

In 2014, Kadeem Dacres was selected 65th overall in the MLS (Major League Soccer) Superdraft by the Chicago Fire, but never signed with the club. That same year, he signed his first professional contract with the Arizona United SC, an expansion team of the USL. He scored 4 goals and notched 3assists in his first professional season.

In 2015, Dacres signed with Louisville City FC, where he played wing for two seasons, appearing in 55 games and scoring 9 goals. He had an especially strong second half of the 2016 season and scored a goal and assist in the 2016 USL playoffs.  Dacres finished as Louisville City’s third-leading scorer with 6 goals and 2 assists in 2016. In December 2016, he joined his current team, FC of the USL, where he is a forward.

After his two years at Mercer, Dacres transferred to the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC), where he played in all 41 Retriever games in two seasons. In 2012, he earned Second Team All American East Conference Honors and was named to the American East All-Tournament Team. In 2013, Dacres earned even more honors, as he was named a National Soccer Coaches Association Continental Tire NCAA Division I Third Team All-American and was named Midfielder of the Year for the American East Conference. Dacres also earned First Team All American East Conference Honors and was named to the All-American East Conference Championship Team. He was selected as the Retriever’s Most Valuable Athlete after finishing his career at UMBC with 12 goals and 7 assists.

Dacres was a standout while playing for Mercer in 2009 and 2010. In 2010, he earned NJCAA All-American Honors and was named the Region 19 Player of the Year. In that season, the Vikings won the Region 19 title and advanced to the Northeast District Championship game before losing to Monroe (Bronx). Dacres finished the 2010 season with 7 goals and 2 assists and earned First Team All-Region 19 and First Team All GSAC (Garden State Athletic Conference) Honors.
