Vikings Starting Pitcher Dennis Brady Named National Division II Pitcher of the Week
MCCC baseball pitcher Dennis Brady was named NJCAA Division II national Pitcher of the Week, as well as Region 19 and Garden State Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.
WEST WINDSOR – Even though the season is young, honors are already starting to come in for the nationally-ranked Mercer County Community College (MCCC) baseball team, with starting pitcher Dennis Brady being named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Pitcher of the Week.
Brady, a sophomore transfer from East Carolina University, also received pitcher of the week honors from the Garden State Athletic Conference and NJCAA Region 19.
“Denny Brady is a great compliment to our returning national Pitcher of the Year, Andrew DiPiazza,” said MCCC Head Coach Kevin Kerins. “He has brought a tremendous work ethic and intensity to our program.”
Brady has a record of 1-0 after his start last week against Harford, when he pitched six strong innings, with 12 strikeouts, no walks, and no earned runs. He is currently committed to attend Old Dominion University this fall.
Coming off a 51-10 2016 season and a fourth-place finish at the NJCAA Division II World Series, the Vikings are currently 5-1 on the season and ranked third nationally among NJCAA Division II schools.
