Update on MCCC Baseball at World Series; Tune in Today at 4:30 p.m.
The Vikings baseball team is currently 2-1 in the semi-final round of the double elimination NJCAA Division II World Series in Enid, Okla. In yesterday's second contest against Lansing Community College -- the Vikings won the first game against Lansing 9-7 -- Mercer came up short by one run, losing 7-6. They face Lansing again today at 4:30 p.m. EDT in the elimination game for both teams. If Mercer wins, they will advance to the series final tomorrow to face either Parkland College or Kankakee Community College. Going into the tournament, Mercer had the most home runs of any team (72) and a deep pitching staff, with Dennis Brady leading the nation with a 0.92 ERA. Watch today’s game live at www.njcaatv.com.

Disney's 'Little Mermaid' Tomorrow Through Sunday at Kelsey Theatre
Join Ariel, her underwater friends -- and one very nasty sea witch! -- as The Yardley Players present Disney's "The Little Mermaid" June 2 through June 4, including matinees on Saturday and Sunday. Tomorrow Is Last Day to View Commencement on MCCC Cable
If you haven't had the chance to view it yet, a final rebroadcast of MCCC's 50th Anniversary Commencement ceremony will air tomorrow, June 2, on Mercer County cable television at noon and 6 p.m. Click here for channels and times.

HRIM Breakfast Club Continues Through June 7
The Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management program presents the Breakfast Club! Breakfast will be served Monday, June 5 through Wednesday, June 7, 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. in ES 111. No tickets are required. Prices start at $3.00.

'The Glass Menagerie' Comes to Kelsey Theatre June 9 to 18
Love, dreams, desire, and longing tug at the heart in Tennessee Williams’ “The Glass Menagerie,” coming to Kelsey Theatre. Presented by the Perry Award-winning Maurer Productions OnStage (MPO), performances run June 9-18. Read more here.

'Beloved Trenton' Photo Exhibit at JKC Gallery June 19 to July 17
The photography of Trenton resident Habiyb Ali Shu'Aib will be featured in "Beloved Trenton" at the Gallery at JKC from June 19 to July 17. An Opening Reception and Artist's Talk takes place Friday, June 23. (The talk begins at 5:30 p.m.) The show includes a series of photos that capture tthe city with honesty, affection, familiarity and curiosity. Read more here.

Sweet Anniversary Celebration for PTA Program
The Physical Therapist Assistant Program brought together alumni and current students, along with faculty, administrators and industry professionals, for a sweet affair on April 28. "The Chocolate Affair II" celebrated 20 years of success for a program that has been at maximum enrollment for more than a decade. More here.

Noyce Scholars Head to WPU to Prepare for Careers as Science Teachers
Two MCCC students are turning their goal to be science teachers into a reality through the Mercer-William Paterson University Noyce Scholarship program offered through the National Science Foundation. Biology grad Savannah Dziepak and Education grad Meghan Knamm will complete their bachelor's degree in science education with major tuition support. Read about it here.

Honors Symposium Gives Students Chance to Share with Peers and Professors
"Learning through doing" was very much in evidence at the May 12 Honors Symposium as students presented projects and activities to classmates and professors, sharing knowledge and insights they gained during the spring semester. More here.

Med Lab Tech Students Earn Honors from Professional Organizations
Two major professional organizations have rewarded Mercer's Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) students for excellence. According to Program Coordinator Lisa Shave, student Lisa Kimball is the recipient of one of only two scholarships awarded statewide by the New Jersey chapter of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science. Kimball and five other students were recognized by the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the world’s largest professional organization for pathologists and laboratory professionals and the agency that oversees the MLT certification exam. Greetings from Granada! Study Tour Students Send Back Gorgeous Photos from Granada
Professor Daniel D'Arpa and a group of students arrived in Granada, Spain, on May 20, and have been immersing themselves in the language, culture, natural beauty and wonderful food of this southern Spanish province. Professor D'arpa has been sending photos! See them on Facebook here. (The group returns June 3.)

Professor and Poet Nicole Homer Publishes Debut Book of Poetry
English faculty member Nicole Homer challenges notions of family in her first full-length poetry collection, Pecking Order. Homer describes the collection as an unflinching look at how race and gender politics play out in the domestic sphere. More here.

Men's Tennis Exceeds Expectations; Vecchiolla Earns National Award
Marc Vecchiolla, head coach for men's tennis, took three players to the NJCAA National Tournament in Plano, Tex., in May. He reports they had a great experience at the tournament and all three say they have been practicing practically every day since they returned. Additionally, Vecchiolla was the recipient of the Herschel Stephens Coaching Award, presented to a coach for Outstanding Service and Dedication to the NJCAA Tennis Coaches’ Association. More here.
