TRENTON – Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC) James Kerney Campus (JKC) received a boost from long-time supporters Roma Community Foundation and Investors Bank with the donation of $20,000, the third and final installment of a three-year, $60,000 grant. The grant, initiated for expansion of Mercer’s James Kerney Campus, was used to furnish and equip the new Annex to Trenton Hall, which includes the JKC Gallery.

Specializing in the photographic arts, the JKC Gallery is located at street level in the newly-completed Trenton Hall Annex, an 8,500-square-foot building at 137 North Broad Street. The gallery opened in February and will host its third show June 19 to July 17, “Beloved Trenton,” featuring the work of photographer Habiyb Ali Shu'Aib.

The street-level gallery space also includes a multi-purpose community room and an outdoor garden. Upper floors of the building also house MCCC’s new Cybersecurity and Security Systems Technology programs, as well as existing classes in the health sciences.

MCCC applied for the grant from Roma Community Bank Foundation, which support non-profit organizations that enrich communities served by Investors Bank. Roma Bank became part of Investors Bank in December 2013.

“We are grateful for the support of Investors Bank and the Roma Community Foundation, and their foresight in investing in the Mercer’s James Kerney Campus,” said MCCC President Dr. Jianping Wang. “The new JKC Gallery is a tremendous cultural resource for all Trenton residents, and the new educational opportunities in Trenton Hall will open doors to high-tech careers for generations to come.”
