West Windsor, N.J. – Amid cheers and tears, 28 graduates of the Mercer County Community College (MCCC) Nursing Class of January 2017 celebrated with faculty, college administrators and loved ones at a graduation and pinning ceremony on Jan. 11 at Kelsey Theatre.

Said Valedictorian Lauren Bullock, “It has been an extremely challenging and at times daunting experience.  The program pushed me to my limits.  We all learned to take each step day by day. Our struggles helped us to become better nurses and better people.”

Bullock, of Hamilton, believes that nursing is a profession with boundless possibilities and a career of which she can be proud. She credited MCCC faculty, her clinical instructors and her classmates with teaching her the power of teamwork.

Presiding over the ceremony was MCCC President Jianping Wang. “We congratulate you for completing this major milestone in your journey and welcome you to a noble profession,” Dr. Wang said, adding that MCCC faculty members should be recognized as well. “They have advised you and pushed you. You and the faculty have bonded over the same desire to help people through your commitment to nursing. Helping the needy and healing the sick is a profession of miracles. Never forget why you chose to enter the profession.”
