Nutrition and Wellness on the Menu at MCCC’s Center for Continuing Studies This Summer
West Windsor, NJ. – Get your healthy glow this summer through a series of nutrition classes offered by The Center for Continuing Studies (CCS) at Mercer County Community College (MCCC). This new workshop series is designed to increase overall health knowledge while presenting holistic healing options for common health concerns.
The workshops are held Mondays and Wednesdays, with day and evening sessions available. Classes are presented in the Conference Center on the college’s West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
Says CCS Director Michael Edmondson, “In today's health conscious society, people are seeking alternatives to deal with stress and health issues through diet, vitamins and supplements. Our new nutrition series will help community residents navigate the abundance of information by focusing on the particular issues of concern to them. Our hope is that people will take away information they can put into practice to increase their health and sense of well-being.”
Presented by instructor Avis Gardell-Feldstein, the series kicks off with “Nutrition Overview: Creating a Personal Nutrition Plan for You” June 5 and 12. (Additional sessions of this overview course are offered June 7, July 12 and Aug. 2.) Also in June are “How to Protect Ourselves from Disease with Food, Herbs and Supplements” June 7 and 14; “How to Eat for Health and Blood Type” June 19 and 26; and “The Scoop on Gluten and Other Food Intolerances and Allergies” June 21 and 28.
