MCCC Women’s Soccer Player Janine Dennis Named All-American

WEST WINDSOR – For the first time since 2010, a member of the Mercer County Community College (MCCC) women’s soccer team has been named to the All-American Team by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA)..
Janine Dennis, a sophomore forward from St. Andrews, Jamaica, earned honors as a NJCAA Division I Honorable Mention after finishing sixth in the nation in goals scored, with 29 goals in 15 games. Dennis finished the season 10th in the nation in points, with 66 (29 goals and eight assists). She helped pace the Vikings team to 13-3-1 record.
“Janine is a highly-skilled player and very coachable,” said first-year Head Coach Elyse Diamond. “It will be very hard to replace her next year.”
During the course of the season Dennis was named Region 19 Player of the Year, and twice received Garden State Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors. She scored four goals in three different games, with a hat trick in three other games.
