Family Version of 'Nutcracker' Comes to Kelsey Theatre This Weekend
Closing out the holiday season at MCCC's Kelsey Theatre is the New Jersey Youth Ballet's "The Nutcracker" tonight through Sunday. This narrated, one-hour version is perfect holiday entertainment for the whole family. Children will have a chance to go up on stage following the performance to meet their favorite dancers. AAWCC Holiday Extravaganza Is Tomorrow, Dec. 17
The MCCC chapter of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) hosts is Second Annual Holiday Extravaganza for the children and grandchildren of college faculty, staff, and students tomorrow, Dec. 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the West Windsor Campus gymnasium. The event features games, crafts, food, prizes, and more! See the flyer here. Faculty/Staff Holiday Reception Is Dec. 21
Faculty and staff are invited to the annual Holiday Reception on Wednesday, Dec. 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. The reception takes place in the cafeteria of the West Windsor Campus Student Center. The college is continuing the annual tradition of helping those less fortunate by teaming up with the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen to collect donations of non-perishable food and winter clothing items for families in need, through Dec.22. Please remember to bring your non-perishable and cash donations to the holiday reception. Collection bins are also located outside the Human Resources Department (AD101) and in other common areas of both campuses. RSVP by clicking here.

After winter break, the college's Division of Innovation, Online Education and Student Success (IOESS) will be gearing up for pre-class week activities, including An Afternoon with Dr. Eddie Glaude on Jan. 10, plus workshops on Blackboard, and the new Student Planning tool. Second Info Session for Spain Trip Is Jan. 17
The MCCC Center for Global Opportunities is sponsoring a study tour to Spain from May 20 to June 3, which includes accommodations with a Spanish family in Granada, cooking class, a live Flamenco dance show, tapas tour, and an excursion to Cordoba. The program is open to students, faculty, staff, and community members. The cost is $2,500 and includes airfare, meals, accommodations, health insurance, and tuition for SPA110 (three credits). An information session will be held Jan. 17, noon to 1 p.m. in LA125. Final payment is due Feb. 17. For the application procedure, click here. Questions? Innovative Partnership Allows MCCC Students to Live on Rider University Campus
MCCC students can now experience campus life at Rider University as part of a new housing partnership between the two institutions.The formal agreement — one of several signed on Dec. 14 at a ceremony on Mercer's West Windsor campus — allows Mercer students to live in Rider’s residence halls at a reduced rate. Business Students Consider Careers in Nonprofit Sector With 'Make A Wish' Visit
While many business students plan to head to major corporations after earning their college degrees, the nonprofit sector can be a more rewarding choice for many. MCCC Business students learned that lesson during a tour of the Make A Wish Foundation's New Jersey chapter. Read about it here.

Student Athletes Score Big in Fight Against Hunger This Holiday Season
Following a month-long food drive that netted 562 pounds of food, student athletes and several staff members delivered the goods to the Mercer Street Friends Food Bank on Dec. 14. Students volunteered for several hours while learning more about the Food Bank's mission. More here.

Winter Edition of Kelsey Review Now Available Online
The latest issue of Kelsey Review is now available. This is issue 35.2 (Winter 2016), with new art, poetry, and prose. Says faculty member Jacky Vogtman, editor of Kelsey Review, "I share these pieces of prose and poetry crafted by talented Mercer County-area artists to bide you through the winter months ahead. Read. Re-read. Share with friends and family. Take this healthy dose of literature to cure you of all life’s ailments." Still Time to Register for Winter, Spring Terms
Spread the word -- there's still time for new students, current MCCC students and visiting students home on winter break to catch up or get ahead by earning college credits through accelerated classes during the Winter Session. Registration for spring semester is also open. The start date for Winter Session on-campus classes is Jan. 3; online classes begin Dec. 19. The Spring semester for most classes begins Jan. 17. Reminders

Jan. 6: Deadline for PlayFest 2017. As part of the year-long 50th anniversary celebration, Mercer is hosting “PlayFest 2017” in March. The deadline for submitting a script for consideration has been extended to Friday, Jan. 6, 2017. Read more here.

Annual Report Now Available Online. "All In for Student Success" is the theme of the 2015-16 college and Foundation Annual Report, which includes highlights from the past year and features a number of students who had good things to say about their Mercer experience.
