Mercer County Symphonic Band Winter Concert Features Big Band, Dixieland, and Holiday Favorites Dec. 7

WEST WINDSOR – The Mercer County Symphonic Band will presents its 2016 Winter Concert on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Kelsey Theater, on the West Windsor campus of Mercer County Community College (MCCC). Admission is free.
The 2015 Winter Concert program includes big band swing and Dixieland selections, baroque and classical music, contemporary compositions, traditional marches and seasonal favorites. Musical dedications will be made recognizing the 15th anniversary of 911 and the 75th anniversary of the Dec. 7 attack on the U.S. at Pearl Harbor.
Under the direction of Dr. Lou Woodruff, the Mercer County Symphonic Band is celebrating its 35th season with 60 participating musicians, spanning seven decades in age. The band is open to all interested musicians without audition and rehearses Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m., September through June, in the Music Suite (CM156) on MCCC's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
The Mercer County Symphonic Band is supported by the Arts and Communication Division of MCCC, with funding from the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission through a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Visit the band’s website at www.mercerband.org.
