West Windsor, N.J. – As Mercer County Community College (MCCC) continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary year, the Gallery at Mercer is presenting an exhibit that draws on MCCC’s deep roots in the arts community and its founding more than 100 years ago as The School for Industrial Arts in Trenton. The show will be on display from Monday, Sept. 19 to Tuesday, Oct. 18. The community is invited to an opening reception on Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The MCCC Gallery is located on the second floor of the Communications Building on the college’s West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.  Directions and a campus map can be found here.

According to Interim Gallery Director Kerri O’Neill, “Mercer Arts at Fifty” encompasses a broad range of art and history featuring 24 pieces from current and emeritus Visual Arts faculty. It also includes selected MCCC alumni representing each of the college's arts programs.

“What makes this 50th anniversary show so exciting and unique is that it is truly a once in a ‘Mercer-lifetime’ experience for both participating artists and viewers alike,” O’Neill said.

Participating artists include current and former faculty members Michael Chovan-Dalton, James J. Colavita, Louis Draper, Yevgeniy Fiks, Lucas Kelly, Eric Kunsman, Tina Laplaca, Mel Leipzig, Frank Rivera, Kyle Stevenson, Mark Stockton, Sarah Sweeney, and Michael Welliver. The Visual Arts alumni artists are Sam Acuff, James Bascara, Alan Bennett, Greg Gentert, James Gubernick, CJ Harker, Adam Hillman, Katelyn Liepins, Hayley Monek, Ian Murphy and Zachary Santanello.

Gallery hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Wednesday hours extended until 7 p.m.
