ASL 101 - American Sign Language I (3 credits)
Introduction to the language used by most deaf people, including review of the development of American sign language. Develops basic expressive and receptive skills through an understanding of ASL grammatical constructs and vocabulary. [Does not satisfy foreign language requirements.] 3 lecture hours
ASL 102 - American Sign Language II (3 credits)
Prerequisite: ASL 101 with a minimum C grade
Continuation of ASL 101. Students refine visual-gestural communications skills through more advanced ASL grammatical constructs and an expanded sign vocabulary. Most of this course is conducted without spoken communication. [Does not satisfy foreign language requirements.] 3 lecture hours
