Note: Students who have taken two or more years of a foreign language, and have done so in the last two years, should begin that language at the 200 level or switch to a new language. If there is doubt, placement will be determined by testing or consultation with the academic division.
ARB 101 - Beginning Arabic I (3 credits)
Introducing modern Arabic, emphasizes the four basic skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Presents basic vocabulary and structure. Additionally, examines Arab culture. 3 lecture hours
ARB 102 - Beginning Arabic II (3 credits)
Prerequisite: ARB 101 with a minimum C grade
Continues from ARB 101 to emphasize acquisition of an increasing level of listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills and of more vocabulary. Includes analysis of grammatical structures, with special attention to dialogue. 3 lecture hours
