Prerequisite: ABT 109 with a minimum C grade
Regulations for construction and/or design of residences and small buildings. Explores their applicability and intent subject to the interpretations imposed by the state of New Jersey. Spring offering. 4 lecture hours

Survey of building materials, their physical properties, and manufacture and use as applied in the building trades for architectural design. Materials are studied relative to practical real-life applications. Fall offering. 2 lecture hours

ABT 120 - Architectural Technology Graphics (4 credits)
Introductory course in architectural graphics develops abilities in a range of current graphic techniques. Topics include lettering, linework, orthographic projection, paraline drawing, dimensioning, material representation, presentation drawings, and working drawings. Fall offering. 2 lecture/6 laboratory hours

ABT 124 - Architectural Working Drawings (4 credits)
Development of skills in visual expression continued from ABT 120. Basic instruction in preparing architectural working drawings and the gathering of references to serve in construction principles and design. Enables efficient communication of architectural construction information using professional graphic techniques. Spring offering. 2 lecture/4 laboratory hours

ABT 132 - Architectural Computer Drafting (2 credits)
Prerequisite: DRA 190 with a minimum C grade
Using architectural software, students produce professional drawings, compile contract documents, date, store and retrieve information on both two- and three-dimensional projects. Involves creation of walls, doors, windows and roofs as well as implementation of symbols for structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, furnishing, and site work. 1 lecture/2 laboratory hours

ABT 210 - Construction Drawings (3 credits)
Prerequisites: ABT 104, ABT 124 with a minimum C grade
Production of working drawings for a small commercial or industrial building. Includes site, foundation, floor, structural, HVAC, and plumbing and electrical plans and details along with other drawings required for federal, state, and local code requirements. Fall offering. 2 lecture/2 laboratory hours

ABT 220 - Reinforced Concrete Structures (3 credits)
Prerequisite: DRA 217
Study and design of elementary reinforced concrete structural members using basic formulas. Using CAD techniques, students produce working drawings based upon design calculations of beams, columns, slabs, and footings in accordance with current practice and codes. Concrete testing procedures are also studied in the lab. Spring offering. 2 lecture/3 laboratory hours

ABT 299 - Cooperative Education -- Architectural and Building Construction Technology (3 credits)
Relevant experiences to complement classroom instruction with practical on-the-job application of architectural and/or building construction practices in local industry for ABCT students. Additional expenses for travel, clothing, and equipment may be incurred. 1 lecture/180 work experience hours
