Chronological Resume

Purpose

To convince an employer to interview you based on your how you used your skills in your last three or four jobs covering a five - to ten-year period. 

Key Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Strengths: Emphasizes upward mobility and increasing responsibility. Works best for individuals with progressive responsibility and experience in the same field.
  • Weaknesses: Highlights gaps in employment, irrelevant job titles, job hopping and demotions that may cause an employer to screen you out.
Basic Parts
Heading: name, mail address, city, state, zip code. telephone, fax & email address

Objective: a short phrase stating your job target

Qualifications Summary: short statements summarizing your key selling points

Experience: dynamic statements of your key accomplishments organized by employment periods and (if possible) job titles, stating results and your role

Education: summary of your education and training relevant to your objective

Optional Parts

Professional Affiliations, Computer Skills, Licenses, Certifications


Other hints

Try to limit your resume to one page. One page means that you must make a few words tell your historical employment story. 

This page must have quality so invest in good paper.

Also avoid loud colors unless the job you seek is artistically related.
