This series of courses is designed to provide you with the skills you need to become an effective and marketable designer for web and print publications. Basic foundational training in graphic arts in addition to practical experience with the premium Adobe creative suite are at the heart of this design certificate.

The Center for Continuing Studies has updated this certificate program for fall of 2014. Two tracks are being offered: developers may choose the Microsoft track or the Open Source track for a more varied approach. Choice of tracks is a personal preference according to needs.

IT RISK MANAGEMENT/CYBER SECURITY CERTIFICATE

Now is the time to get the training to be part of this growing field; a field that is growing 3.5 times faster than the standard IT field. With so many businesses and organizations experiencing cyber intrusions and security breaches, the need for Risk Management/Cyber Security specialists has increased exponentially.

The Certificate in IT Risk Management/Cyber Security has been developed for the working IT professional who is responsible for protecting data architecture from hacking, viruses; worms, and the multitude of additional growing threats. At the completion of this certificate program, you will understand issues of assessment and mitigation of security risks in networking, TCP/IP, cloud, wireless, host/application and server environments.

 

All four of the following courses must be successfully completed to earn the certificate:

This course prepares students to take the CompTIA Security+ certification exam. It will provide a thorough understanding of fundamental security issues, standards, frameworks, processes, policies, and risk management/mitigation.


INTRODUCTION TO AUTOMATION USING

PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLERS (PLC)

This 78 hour course runs for 6.5 hours on 12 Saturdays from 8:30am - 4:00pm with

one hour provided for a lunch break.

Classes will be scheduled following a mandatory information session on
