As a graduate of the Ford ASSET Program at the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA and 2003 certified Ford Senior Master Technician, Professor Evans knows what it takes to educate aspiring automotive service technicians. Following his 2002 graduation from the Ford ASSET Program, he worked as a full-time service technician at a local Ford dealership. Within the next two years, Mr. Evans received Master Technician Certification and certification in Advanced Engine Performance from ASE (Automotive Service Excellence). Soon after, Jason was awarded Ford Senior Master Certification from Ford Motor Company. His College degree, combined with diligence in completing additional Ford-specific training and love of the automotive industry, allowed him to streamline the process needed to attain these certifications. In 2007, Professor Evans joined the group of faculty in Mercer's Automotive Department. Since then, Jason has completed his B.S. in Automotive Technology Management and continues to certify in different areas within Fiat/Chrysler Academy.
By using his technical and management skills, Professor Evans is able to introduce students to practical automotive-related operations, while encouraging the automotive students to develop professionally. A combination of class lecture and lab proves successful for exposing students to automotive theory, hands-on, real-life situations, and shop operations. These learning processes yield results that help prepare automotive students for successful careers in the profitable and exciting automotive repair industry.
